03.04.17 Easter Holidays Week 1

·         Arrange a rehearsal day to go over pieces and progress and recap our piece so far (if people are available).

·         Continue researching any background context for songs and pieces involved in

·         Continue to research and develop a character profile.

·         Look over lyrics for ‘Come to a Party’ and think about how it could be amended to fit our narrative

·         Over Easter we should also try to source as many props and costumes as we can at this stage, to make the final weeks easier for us as we do not need any added stresses.

·         Personally I will continue to publicise the performance through flyers, social media and word of mouth. As it is Easter I will be able to publicise the performance to everyone that I speak to. Family etc and then they will publicise it to people they know.

What will you need to do your various activities this week?

·         As it is Easter Holidays I will be working from home, where I have all the facilities I need available.

·         I will carry out any research using my Laptop and document this on WordPress.

·         As I am at home I will have the freedom and space to practice any practical elements such as learning the songs.

·         It wasn’t possible to organise a group rehearsal in the holidays due to conflicting schedules, however we were able to communicate and make decisions via online group chats.

·         I managed to carry out in depth research into each of the main pieces I am involved in, to help me build up a background and understanding of the context.

·         I watched a production of the musical Dogfight on Youtube to get a better understanding of how the story and how the actors present their characters.

·         I looked at the lyrics for ‘Come to a Party’ and thought about how it could be amended to fit our narrative and made notes on this to share and discuss with Tom.

·         I researched Henry VIII and the history behind the character Katherine as well as Shakespeare’s portrayal of her in the play.

·         I made a character profile that had basic information on my character so far.

·         I brainstormed ideas on bits of dialogue that could take place before ‘Come to a Party’ to give it some context as I thought this was important. I didn’t want to make any solid decisions before running it by others and making sure we were on the same tracks regarding character’s stories.
